Horsemanship

Our goals are:

  • To educate you on the horse's perspective as well as the mechanics and discipline of finer horsemanship.
  • To teach in a manner that is safe while challenging ourselves.
  • To work with dedicated horseman.
  • To improve your confidence and leadership skills through teaching quality horsemanship.

Our approach is:

  • Results oriented. We get results by creating a program that will help you achieve your goals.
  • To provide you with real life situations using cattle, trail riding and other challenges to develop your skills and provide you experience.
  • To work with small groups that allows us to provide individual instruction and create a supportive learning classroom.

  • Here on the ranch we use our arenas, round pens, cattle, trail obstacles and acres of woods and fields to provide endless learning opportunities that are both challenging and fun.
  • The cost is $150 per day. This includes horse lodging, dry camping or self-contained trailers, and dinner on clinics of 2 days and longer.

Lessons/Programs

We offer both individual and group lessons. Group lessons are limited to six clients. We offer lessons here at the ranch and away. The price varies depending on the program that is created for you. A program typically consists of lessons and clinics over a period of time. The program is based on your goals.

Clinic Types

Horsemanship

The purpose of this clinic is to improve the basics of good horsemanship skills, safety, control, and leadership. Cows and trail obstacles may be a part of this class. We use cattle, and trail courses in this class.

Cow Working

The purpose of this clinic is to improve you and your horses skills to move cattle efficiently. This includes learning when and how much to pressure to use, to teach your horse to watch the cow, and to improve your maneuverability. You will work on getting your horse to be responsive. Timing, and awareness are everything. This clinic will include some horsemanship to work on basics to improve your cow working abilities

Trail

The purpose of this clinic is to improve your ability to safely ride through trail obstacles quickly, without hesitation, and to teach you and your horse to become good partners. This clinic will include some horsemanship to work on basics to improve your trail riding and leadership abilities.

We schedule these clinics based on interest. Contact us if you are interested.
